NCALT continually evaluates the potential of new technologies and ideas to improve learning and performance in policing. There are currently three areas of research and development.

Mobile Learning
We are exploring the potential and the practicalities of delivering ‘just-in-time’ learning  to mobile devices (phones, PDAs, media players).

Immersive 3-D learning environments
We are aiming to create more immersive, scenario-based learning on screen. This would be delivered as part of classroom training and enable learners to see the consequences of their decisions.

Virtual classrooms
This innovative learning technology enables the delivery of training from one central source (e.g. instructor) to many local environments.
