On the 18th October, the 2010 Policing 2.0 conference was successfully broadcast live via NCALT Live! to over 100 people up and down the country, right to their desks.  The attendees dipped in and out of sessions during the day and used the online chat feature to pose questions into the conference and to other online delegates.  If you would like your conference broadcast securely within the policing community, please contact NCALT to discuss.

Speaker: Assistant Chief Constable Gordon Scobbie, West Midlands Police. The ACPO perspective on the future of digital engagement.  ACC Gordon Scobbie from West Midlands Police is the ACPO Portfolio lead for Digital and Social Media Engagement will talk about the current work undertaken in the portfolio and the potential way forward in the changing policing landscape.
 
Policing in the 21st Century
 
Speaker: Catherine Howe, Public I. How does digital engagement assist with doing more when you’ve got less?  Catherine Howe from Public-I will discuss how policing can engage with digital and social media technology to increase efficiencies and savings in a difficult financial climate. 
 
The Space for Digital Engagement within wider Policing
 
Speaker: Cat Drew, Head of Neighbourhood Policing, Home Office. Looking for opportunities for digital engagement within the policing agenda.  Cat Drew will discuss the feedback from the consultation to the Policing in the 21st Century White Paper and how this will influence government policing during a time of police reform.

Speaker: Amanda Neylon, MPS. Crime reporting and front desk services online.  How the Metropolitan Police are dealing with crime reports and front counter services on line.
 
How to steal an identity
 
Speaker: Richard Hollis, Orthus. Identity theft and privacy.  Richard will discuss how identity can be stolen and what steps can be taken to protect yourself online

Virtual Meetings Workshop
 
Speaker: Christine Smith and Kate Buckland, Sussex Police. Virtual Public Meetings.  Christine and Kate will show how Sussex Police used webcasting to increase the reach of the public engagement meetings. 
 
 
Google Tools Workshop
 
Speaker: Natalie Proffitt, Leicestershire Police – Using Google tools to support policing Anti Social Behaviour.  Natalie will show how Google search tools can be used in a policing context. Patrick will also demonstrate what other Google free tools are available.
 
Summary and Close
