PANDA LIVE!

On March 2nd 2009 NCALT was pleased to release the much-awaited Course Builder 'Panda' to all 43 Forces and non-home office forces.

Panda is provided free of charge to the 43 Home Office Forces and Associate Partners enabling practitioners to quickly and easily create simple yet high quality pieces of e-learning, similar in style and structure to that produced by NCALT.

Through the use of Panda, Forces can be safe in the knowledge that learners’ progress will be tracked via the NCALT Managed Learning Environment (MLE).

In addition the user experience is consistent with the award winning e-learning 'Sudden Death' produced by NCALT. More

The development of Panda has been a close collaboration between NCALT and the policing community. User involvement has taken place throughout, from requirements gathering, through Beta testing to the successful Pilot.

Jocelyn Simmons - Head of Learning at Norfolk Constabulary was the elected NCALT Senior User Group representative and was ably supported by 17 other Forces during Beta testing and Pilot.

As a result, the user feedback has been excellent. As Jocelyn says, “I have been impressed with the way NCALT have worked with us to provide an excellent authoring tool that will make a real difference to the quality of e-learning produced by Forces.”

In order to gain access to the download facility, Forces must sign and return a copy of the License Agreement which can be obtained on request from NCALT.
